Default FUEL PRESSURE PROBLEM??? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a 94 ex civic w/z6 motor. yesterday i put a b&m fuel pressure guage on it. when i would shut it off it would hold pressure at 35-40 psi. and keep that pressure until the next time i started it. last night i put on a 99 gsr fuel pump(for the higher lph and my was still original) and now if i shut it off it dosnt hold any pressure at all. if i let it sit it takes alot of cranking to start< i assume its because it has to build pressure. any ideas y its not holding pressure. Could it be because my car is mpi and the pump is efi. or do u think i have a leak in the pressure line somewhere. any suggestions or has anyone else done this and ran into this problem. will this problem cause the pump to wear out faster?? any help would be great.

I just put a GSR fuel pump in my cx yesterday too. When I tried to crank it over it took a while and thats when i realized i left the gas cap off. Once i screwed it back on tight it cranked right over. So i'm guessing that if there is a leak anywhere in the tank area it will be sluggish to start. Maybe you should recheck the bolts around the pump, make sure all your hoses are tight, and double check the gas cap.
