Default Fuel Filter Change

I've never done the change before, anything I need to know? I got a filter at advanced auto parts. Not sure what brand. Does it matter?

The stock filters that come in 96+ civic filters are lifetime filters, according to honda. Food for thought.

That's what I thought, I just took it to a shop to get the car inspected, and the mechanics there thought it needed to be changed. I guess they muct've thought it was 120,000 mile maintenance. Becuase that's what they said it needed.

Most mechanics will say that, because cars traditionally need one at 100k.

oh, and get line wrenches / flare wrenches to bust loose your fittings.
can strip easily if you dont use the right tools.
also pay close attention to how it comes apart and where the little washers go.
your replacing the washers too right ?

Yes line wreches are a definate, because I can't tell you how many lines have been fucked by some of my customers who are the "do it yourself" type that try and change the filters themselves.

My shop ends up having to replace the entire lines themselves, which sucks.

All for a $15.00 filter.
