Finding an input shaft bearing...
Ok guys I have a 97 Civic LX and it's making a noise I have come to believe is the input shaft bearing. I'm not especially knowledgeable when it comes to Hondas (or cars in general for that matter) so right now I'm a little confused. I bought an Exedy clutch kit (it's also time to replace the clutch) and I'm afraid to say I assumed the pilot bearing that came with the kit was in fact the same as an input shaft bearing. The kit came with the throwout bearing and the pilot bearing. I've looked online for just an input shaft bearing and seal for my car but oddly I haven't seen it for sale.
Can anyone direct me to a vendor that can sell me the bearing and seal? Also, I'm guessing it's not going to be a big deal replacing it since the tranny has to come out anyway to put the clutch in, but if I'm wrong on anything here please let me know. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

That is not the same bearing, the one behind the flywheel (actually its installed into the flywheel) is called the pilot bearing. The input shaft bearing is located inside of the transmission itself. I believe I paid in the neighborhood of about $20 through Majestic Honda for mine. It's not difficult to install but if you've never done it before be prepared to have your car down for a few hours if not a full weekend.

ISB requires COMPLETE disassembly of the transmission. There's a great tutorial in the transmission forum.
What's the noise like? Does it stop when you engage the clutch?

+1. If your ISB is bad have the rest of the trans rebuilt while you're at it. Don't play the guessing game with this.
EDIT: Before you spend a bunch of money though, a good used D series trans goes for $150. Any more than that and you're overpaying

Arg, really I have to rebuild the tyranny? That sucks, oh well I guess it would've had to be done eventually. Yes the noise stops when I push in the clutch pedal. I wish you guys had better news for me, but I appreciate the responses. Thanks guys,

You don't necessarily need to rebuild, but the transmission does need to be more or less completely disassembled as the ISB and seal are under everything else. You will need to pull the gears from the input and counter shafts and clean everything up, if you don't do this dirt and debris inside the shafts will plug oiling holes and you'll starve bearings for oil.
You don't need a lot of special tools, but you will need an 8mm allen wrench (you almost need one on a socket) snap ring pliers like this:
and a 30mm socket for the countershaft nut.
You'll also need 3 of 94109-12000 WASHER, DRAIN PLUG (12MM) for the detent bolts, 1 of 94109-14000 WASHER, DRAIN PLUG (14MM) and 1 of 94109-20000 WASHER, DRAIN PLUG (20MM) The actual input shaft bearing and seal part numbers are: 91002-PHR-013 BEARING (26X52X15) and 91216-PL3-005 OIL SEAL (26X42X7) (NOK)

^ You coming through my town on your way west any time soon? I'll pay you to install my LSD and install my new bearings and seals. Actually, I could pay you in parts, if you want them, haha. If I did it myself my car would surely be down for a week as I make all sorts of expensive mistakes.

Dude, get those winter tires ready. 10cm on the ground as of last night. Roads were a mess this AM. Didn't even make it to work. 25mins and I got 3 blocks. Turned around and called in dead.

No, different part numbers and you don't need the crush washers for the detent bolts as it doesn't have any.
