Default External power cord for camping

Heya. I've got a 1999 Civic LX Sedan, 4AT, stock powertrain. I'm not sure if this belongs specifically in the EG/EK forum, but I'll go for it anyway.

I've seen a few show cars, or cars and trucks with a lot of electronics, where they have a three-prong male plug coming out, or hidden somewhere easily accessible. I think it's for when they go to shows or go camping or whatever, so their battery doesn't die. I'm trying to figure out exactly what that system is composed of, and (very briefly) how I would install it. I've tried to Google, and all that pops up is wall sockets for homes, and male plugs for RVs (larger ones that have one prong at a 90-degree angle).

I intend to use this car for the occasional road trip, and I want to put in a modestly sized monitor in the trunk to hook up an old laptop and watch movies or play games. The screen on it broke, but the computer part still works so I thought I should put it to use. Thanks in advance!

The pronged cords are battery charger inputs for charging off ac.

You want Power Inverter: Amazon.com

Power inverter, to power your ac stuff. But....

The TV, video game console, speakers are actually DC components...doin it right means having a voltage regulator, and a bank of batteries in parallel. And a battery charger so you dont have to idle for hours to recharge the bank.

OP is basically asking to do too much for a car battery that can only do so much.

Ah. Well, I guess I could always just go camp at a place where a socket is easily accessible, have a power strip/surge protector, and use extension cords. I still want the TV usable off the car battery though. Then I could use it at meets. I'm thinking one of the smallish 12-volt TVs.
