EVAP system issues
Some guy ripped me off and did a mini me and ran everything as a D16y7 with no V-tech. So I had to change ECU and wire harness to D16y8 and pull out the secondary o2 wire from the D16y7 harness and run that. All I have now is your codes p0450 and p0453. I believe the dx and ex canisters are different, the ex has a evap sensor on the canister. I'm going to the salvage yard later today to pick one up, my tags expires in December.

Re: 97 d16y8 evap code, parts missing.
I see those two lines go to intake manifold and the other one goes to the fuel tank, but where the tube on the shut off valve connect to? also where would i wire in the shut off valve to? i know one goes to the ecu but how about the other one? also on the y7 canister there is a tube connected to the bottom of the canister, would that tube get reconnected to the shut off valve? there is also a tube going to the fuel filter that connect to that line as well?
any help out there?

I'm having that issue too and I haven't fixed it yet but I'm gonna take it to a guy that knows a guy, that knows a guy that does all this wiring stuff and see if he will share some ideas.
Oh and I found a Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, wire color green #15 on connector D, that's not hook up to anything. Is that suppose to be hooked up?

Re: EVAP system issues
I have a 1996 civic dx coupe with a d16y8 intake injectors and manifold.
tranny is an automatic.
@622motors i actually got a check engine light for my fuel pressure sensor because my car didn't come with one and i found a form post a while back, don't remember what one but it tricked the ecu to thinking that the sensor was there. basically you just buy a potentiometer and plug the output into the ecu to supply the voltage it is looking for. not the best way to do it, but it did fix the code and never showed back up for me.
just a thought, i might end up just finding a fuel tank pressure sensor and taking that out.
i also don't know if i need it for the evap system to work properly and not throw a code.
