Engine Too Rich

Engine Too Rich
So the other day i went to O'Reilly's to use there OBD2 tool. I ran it in my car and it read "Engine Too Rich"
When i bought the car, it had some issues. When i cruise within 2k - 3k rpm, it jerks and clutters a lot.
1) What i think could be the problem is that the guy before me, has put a y8 manifold on a y7 motor.
(I think this can be the problem)
2) or maybe my spark plug wires are fired?
I was thinking if i don't want to replace the manifold back to a y7 one, should i just put a y8 head and all that stuff into it. Could that fix the problem?
