so a while back i picked up a beat up 94 hatch.
since purchase, ive changed trans, clutch, tires, suspension, etc
i still have no inspection.
first round failed for said exhaust leak
i left there, had the jdm gsr trans with lsd put in.
then ordered cat back.
went back to inspection
and failed.

now i was told i need to spend 400 on a cat to pass inspection, tho my car does not idle right.
??????
was told a new cat will blow clean for a couple days and that way i can get a sticker.,


back in the day, id pay 50-100 for a sticker and be good to go.

now not that easy....

anyway, question i have is.....
my car has b16 swap. and the ecu is original. p 28
if i get a p30 or chipped p 28
will it then read my motor, help the idle, and maybe then pass inspection???

im hoping answer is yes because, ive spent 3-4k in 2mths on this car and really rather not spend 400 on a cat.

bro u can get that ecu chipped to run as a p30 which is the ecu u need, with it chipped u can kill all the sensors.. but i dont know wut u need to do with the emissions over there in nj, cuz in indiana we dont have to do emissions
