Default EM1 HID low beam not working on driver, high beam is.

So I was driving the other day and I noticed my driver's side HID was flickering on and off while driving but for the most part would stay on. Stop the car later in the day and now the driver side light will not work but the high beam will(This is a duel bulb HID). So i replace the both HID bulbs with a whole new APEX HID kit and yet the low beam will not work. Its not the kit since I switched kits between the left and right light and switched connectors so the HID is on the high beam. So what else should i check? I checked the fuse under the hood and that one is good, is there any headlight fuses under the dash? Also how should I go about cleaning the gunk that is on the wiring connector for the headlight. Thank you guys.

Put some regular halogen bulb in. Does it act the same?

The HID has a halogen low beam so I put the halogen connector into the low beam and the HID in the high and now the HID on the high beam works but the halogen low beam does not.

I get that. try not to use any hid part.
use a multimeter and measure the connector to see if you got current while its on the ON position.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! I used an diagram to find the fuses for each headlight and found that one fuse was blown, switched fuses to make sure and bam the driver headlight now works. Thank you for the help

Now how can I clean the connectors of all that yellow gunk in a safe way?

Remove battery (ground) terminal.
wipe as much off as possible
use a brush and CRC electrical cleaner, brush it clean.

Get some dielectric grease and apply on the connector.
reinstall bulb

Done

This is why you use a harness to pull power from the battery directly....
