Default EM1 boosted, running obd1 hondata?

this is for my brother who has a 2k civic Si, this civic is boosted to 7-9 psi, running stock ecu with a piggy back system for 2 extra injectors (6 total) .. i know this is an old style of doing things.. but the plan is getting rid of the 2 extra injectors and going w/ rc650s.. now the question that i have .. is if he does an obd2 to obd1 harness and runs a p28 = hondata.. will he run into any problems with changing to an obd1 ecu? (other then emmisions) plus can anyone list of the bennifits of doing this conversion? any advice helps..thanx
