I don't know where diearzte is going with that, both of those cars are only available in Japan Whatever EK hatchback you are going to get you have to wire it for VTEC.

lets start with:
what car do you have?
Everyone always says ek for all 96-00, whether theyre a hatchback or not.
Actually in the us there were no 'ek's they were all ej.

I don't mind when people call a 96-00 Hatchback an 'EK' but I can't ******* stand it when I click on a thread titiled "Pics of my EK" and all I see is a damn coupe. Coupe = EJ; Hatch = EK please.

Depends on how mechanically inclined/how much mechanic work you've done. It's no walk in the park, but it's really not nearly as tough as say, rebuilding a transmission.
Unbolt the old stuff and rebolt the new in. Run a couple of lines for VTEC and be done with it.

Re: EK with Vtech (veggiemaster)
well first i know i can swap the stock motor out(common sence) the only thing that im gonna need help on is how to put the mounting brackets from the si and i guess it shhould be easy after that just matching stuff with stuff. im gonna be buying a digital camera if i run into any problems. so the wiring i just run through the fire wall and hook it up well i should be starting this project in the next month so thanks. also is there anyone close to northern cali that if i hae anyproblems they could just try stopping by and helping. thnks

Re: EK with Vtech (dirtyapes)
you should probably use the money you were gonna use on the camera and use it to pay someone to put that motor in. Less headache man.
As long as the motor your putting in the car has the OBD system your wiring problems should be very small. (an EK is OBD-2 so if your motor that your gonna swap is OBD-2 also then you should not have a great deal of problems.)
