Default EK - Lights/Indicators Worked, no longer work.

SOLVED

So, I had my car completely stripped, and just now have been getting back to wiring it all up.

I have most everything in the car, just need the aesthetic interior pieces. But I wanted to check everything before doing that.

As car sits now:

Motor in, dash in, everything that need some wiring is installed, and wired up. All grounds have been checked.

Stuck the key in the ignition, door was open, and the indicator beep came on. Hit the hazard lights. Two indicators on cluster blinked, rear and front lights blinked accordingly. Turned the key to second accessory. All console lights came on, lights all worked, blinkers worked, etc etc.

I was proud! And le tired. So I took the key out, and took a nap. Went back to the car after the nap. Stuck the key in, indicator beep started. I hit the hazards, indicators beep went away, nothing comes on. Turned hazards off, took key out, closed the door. Opened door, stuck key in, indicator beep came on, turn key to second accessory, nothing comes on, no lights windshield wipers etc. And the indicator beep goes away.

If I unplug the plug leading from the ignition to the fuse box, the indicator beep will stay on with the key it in even in second accessory, unless I hit the hazards (nothing happens but the indicator turns off). No lights, windshields wiper etc.

None of fuses look blown, everything looks tip top.

Help? Lol.

Car is a 96 EK4 VTi.

Thanks!

"None of the fuses look blown." Did you verify that? Double check all grounds?

I went through and physically removed all the fuses and checked. All grounds seem tight and secure.

Check all connections for tightness and cleanliness, particularly the battery.

Battery showed a 95% charge on it...ill test again I guess. Connections seem tight.

Another ideas?

Thanks ally!

Also check for a loose G401/G402 ground.

I'm going to double check the battery tomorrow. And I'll be double checking those grounds in particular.

Just had battery tested. Battery is fully charged and in excellent working condition.

Just picked up some new terminals though. Going to put those on now.

Grounds all look solid.

No need to lock a thread just because the issue is solved. Someone else might find this useful on down the road.
