ek engine swap
I'm sick of my y7 and am now in the market for a new motor with about $5000 to spend. Everyone tells me boost the y7 but reliability is a concern for me. So my choices are either the b18c1 or the b18c5. So my question is if i only want a fun reliable daily driver that can hold its own most of the time should I just get the b18c1 or fork out the extra cash and get the b18c5. Will I be satisfied with the b18c1 in my hatch? I not looking for huge horsepower numbers in the furure. I just want my car to be reliable, fun and able to hold its own.

Re: ek engine swap (dizzyek)
B18C1 is always going to be a favorite and it is going to give your EK the fun that you are looking for....as well as reliability. A B18C5 will give you everything that the B18C1 can give you and more (as in power). At the end it's all about the money that your willing to spend. The only reason why I would invest in a B18C5 is if I was a weekend racer (autocross, drag, roadracer). I don't know if that helped, but good luck anyway.
Oh yeah, if you get a B18C5 I don't think it has the dualbutterfly intake, so that would be one less thing to wire up in your EK. The B18C1 has it though. Correct me if I'm wrong.
