How do I know VTEC is working?

Default How do I know VTEC is working?

I am new with HONDA and also with VTEC I have a Vtec head but is used, I want to know if its any way I could know that the VTEC is actually working, any help? A gauge or anything I should notice?

the head is off the car? well u could test the solenoid. see if it clicks when u run 12v to it. you could take off the lil port near the solenoid and push compressed air thru and see if the motion assemblies move.

usually vtec doesnt really FAIL. unles theres low oil pressure or a bad solenoid. the mechanical stuff in the head is pretty bullet proof

vtec is loud...u should noe if u do...listen to the sould of ur car..

if it's not working you'll 99% of the time have a cel.

Not if you have an SOHC. You can barely hear that thing.

What motor is it?
