Default Do I loose keyless entry if I replace the OEM CD player?

I have a friend wiht a 2000 Civic EX with keyless entry and a cd/radio unit.
the Cd doesn't work anymore and I am going to replace the unit with another one from the junk yard. is the keyless entry going to work with the other unit? can it be made to work with the new unit? or it won't affect keyless entry at all?

Thanks

EDIT:
I forgot to use the "archived content" when I did the search and I found a post that asnwers my questions.

You have to keep the stock unit in the car, and shove it down behind the dash below the new radio, keeping the keyless controls hooked into the stocker. Or did that stop in '99?

If you're replacing the old radio with the same one, it should work the same.

So for a 98 civic ex sedan like mine, I have to keep the stock radio hoooked up? Are there two plugs, one for the radio and one for the keyless stuff? How do I know what to connect to the new cd player?

Buy the harness for an aftermarket radio that lets you keep keyless. They should know what you mean when you go to an audio shop to buy it.

96-98 keyless entry is located in the stock radio
99-00 it was relocated somewhere else

The '99-'00 unit is down in the kick panel under the hood pull. It's near where the TCM is on CVT models.
