Re: DID I BEND A VALVE (BUDtoker)
well the first questions i have to ask is.
1. Did you reset the timing after it skipped?
2. Why did it skip?
3. What motor?

that's what i was wondering...i am giving him the benefit of the doubt though assuming that he reset it.

Re: (BUDtoker)
and how do i do a leak down test for the valves. do you think mt o2 sensor issue and intake temp sensor issue could be causing this bogging in low range rpm?it didnt run like crap before the timing belt bull crap

A leakdown test pressurizes the cylinder when it is at TDC. Any pressure loss can either be heard out of the oil cap, intake, or exhaust

to have a mechanic pull the head and check your valves would cost you prolly 150$ not too bad...and if your gonna do that **** yourself make sure you got all the tools to put the **** back together or your basically screwed and gotta take it to a mechanic anyways...

Re: (Bazza)
wow 150 bucks where do you live? i just got an estimate 300 too remove head and do a head gasket thats not including the valves being replaced if they are damaged!LMAO and why would the belt skip if i got new belt ?

Yeah, yours is about right, 150 is pretty damn low for a head removal.

Anybody mind cluing me in on what the hell the difference is between a leakdown test and a compression test? As that does sound like a compression test.
Innn any event, @ OP:
I'm hoping you put a new timing belt on and set it correctly? It's kinda ambiguous whether you did or not. The timing belt either slipped b/c you A) Didn't tension it correctly, B) Used a piece of **** tensioner, or C) Let it go too long w/o being replaced.
Do a leakdown/compression test and see if it holds, then you'll know where you're at.
Need a compression tester, there's a how-to some place on how to build your own, you need one of these guys:
It screws into the spark plug holes, you set the cylinder to TDC and see if it holds.
Either way, bad comp, good comp, unless you plan on junking the engine, I'd get a new water pump, tensioner, and timing belt in that bitch and set it. And check that compression ASAP.
Don't worry about driving it or not driving it at this point. If there's any damage done due to two parts (ie. piston and valve) being in the same place at the same time it's done already, so no more damage will occur other than running like **** - though I wouldn't go on any road trips with it anyways.

Re: (BUDtoker)
i don't know if anyone noticed he mentioned he is throwing a o2 code and throwing the iat code...
when o2 throws code you get too much gas which will cause your car to bog in low rpm... higher rpm all gas is being burned... i dunno if the iat would cause more of a problem....
my suggestion is fix the 2 checks, test drive it... still have problems do the compression check... compression is bad its time to dismantle and see what the hell got messed up

Compression test: looking for the maximum psi that the cylinder can produce. Can be away to find blown head gasket will show problem on cylinder not what is causing it. Done with a compression tester and cranking the engine over several times per cylinder to get the reading
Leak down test: Cylinder is put at tdc of its compression stroke. compressed air is put into the cylinder. if air is heard flowing through exhaust = problem with exhaust valve, is air is heard running through intake = problem with intake valve, and if air is moving into crank case = bad rings
