Del Sol value
I am looking at buying a 1994 Honda Del Sol with a 1.5l engine. The car has 100,000 miles on it but has damage to the drivers quarter panel. Can anyone give me an idea what a fair price for something like this?

Re: Del Sol value
how bad is the damage on the quarter panel? because u cant just unbolt these and replace them, u actually need to cut them out and have them re-welded which can cost u more than what the car is worth (car does have very low mileage, and well the del sol "s" model is the lower version with rear drums, no p/s, manual side mirrors, 1.5l non-vtec so if anything i wuldnt pay no more than a grand 1,000$) so save ur money and invest wisely...good luck...

Re: Del Sol value
Del sols are awesome cars, take it from an owner whos very happy with his. That being said, rear fenders cost around $750-1000 to replace in labor/paint, so take that into account. I probably would not spend more than $2000 from what you say about it, but there is a lot to take into account like how well it was maintained, records, etc.

Thanks for all the info. I been in contact with my Brother-in-law he just happens to be a bodyman and owes me a big favor. He said it wasn't too bad and he could repair the quater panel. I can get the car for about 1500.00. Is that a good deal?

Yeah, that sounds like a good deal if you can get it repaired cheap or for free. I would be all over that. Check out the roof seals too, those are commonly bad and leak if they have not been replaced yet which few have

Re: Del Sol value
pay with cash and get it for a grand, trust me with the repairs u will be putting into it ur wallet will hurt afterwards, because its a good deal but as u already know it does need work so again invest wisely as i love sols and by that mileage make sure the 'timing belt package' has been done, like stated above the del sol roof seals do leak, chek for any rust under the fender_wells, tell or inspect if the rear trailing arm bushings have been done, clean & clear title and as a for sure sale tell him that when u do plan to repair the rear quarter panel wen u paint, it wont match the rest of the car (if not freshly painted that is lol) becuz it wuld be shinnier than the rest so it will need a complete paint job and he'll agree and u;ll save money. ha ha talk about knowing ur stuff!!!
