you must be retarded, fwd in the snow is good.....but the car is not very large, hence why I asked for opinions, apparently you don't drive in snow much, awd isn't an option for everyone who gets snowed on guy

I drove my civic from Florida to NY, it was fun. The entire time I stayed in Queens, NY it was snowing. The car drove just fine. It was quite fun rather. With FWD there's no chance of you fishtailing if you mistakingly hit the throttle too hard. The wheels just spin. Putting the car in reverse and flooring it is weird. You car spins in almost perfect circles.

The only downfall of the snow time is the salt on the roads. You car looks like **** when you finish driving. All that dried snow looks horrible and will start to eat away at your poor baby.

Driving my friend's manual mustang was a joke. You had to be extra careful when you turn. VERY easy to spin out.

fwd are actually good in snow cuz most of the weight is in the front, gives tires more traction in snow

This is key. Purchase good snow tires, and you'll be just fine (assuming your car isn't ridiculously low). Even my Boxster got around the Buffalo area just fine on a set of Blizzaks last winter.

Yep 4 good snows and you'll be more then fine.

Never had snow tires on the 1992Si and drove it to VT every winter weekend 1996-1998, rota92 used to be on a ski racing team, never missed a weekend.

I've been driving my sol (stock ride height) as a DD in Colo. for 6yrs. I usually buy good all-season tires and go.

The only time I've ever had a problem is during a blizzard 2 yrs ago. I was able to drive my sol about 2.5 miles home from work without getting stuck. Once I got it home in the garage, I stopped driving it because the streets weren't passable, otherwise it did just fine in the snow.

Eww! Queens FTW!!!

j/k But I was born and raised in Queens, NY and moved here to Tampa, Florida in 2001. Driving the civic in snow was so much fun!

I have a few friends who drive civics, one of them is lowered. But no one around here drives del sols in the snow so I wasnt sure what to expect. I will have good snow tires all the way around which I know helps but sometimes a car just sucks in the snow. but good to know little weight off my shoulders

I bought the car for a daily driver, it gets great gas milage. only problem is iots got a bodykit on it and its a crazy color. Im not a huge honda fan due to everyone here putting fart cans on them and play fast and furious, but i decided to unkit it and its being painted championship white now. when its all finished i am going to post pics, but not until then, I couldnt take the flaming

don't get me wrong, im all about reliability and interchangability, but when im driving my car or riding with a friend and some kid flys out of the nearest BK parking lot and revs with nothing more than a dx with altezza tails and a cheese grater, it gets gay real fast

on a lightweight car, winter tires will make a world of difference. with some good rubber it will be no problem, I see it quite a bit where I am and we have the harshest winters this side of Pluto

imo if you have a standard tranny and a good set of snow tires anything can do well in the snow if you learn to drive it. i always say you cant drive in the snow its a controlled slide, as long as your calm and rational youll be fine
