Default d16z6 vtec -- P28 or P06?

I have a d16z6 vtec that i've put quite a bit of work into, currently im running a p28 ecu but i was told by a friend that the P06 would be better, so before i go switching them around, would the P06 be better? or should i just keep running my P28?

p06 is the d15b7 NON-vtec computer. p28 is the VTEC computer for you d16z6. You figure it out yourself.

That being said, If you are chipping and tuning, it doesn't really matter. A little easier with the p28 though, as you dont have to wire it for VTEC, as you would with the p06. But I run my b16 off of a chipped p06 no problem

P28 is the ecu for the d16z6, which one do you think will be a better suit?

Use the proper ECU for the engine. Maybe next time you should state why your "friend" thinks running a non-VTEC ECU on on a VTEC engine is "better".

Your friends isn't really a good one. But you're modding it anyways. So, in actuality, it's the same. Sell the P28 to someone that is running a stock D16Z. It's hard nowadays to find a completely stock ECU. Chip/socket the P06 matched to your engine/mods.

The internet can be interpret in many ways. It can be coming off wrong at times. Just got to take a grain of salt and walk with it. Yeah, they were being f*gs. People think they're "better" sitting behind a monitor. You came in here for answers. It's not like you were trolling in here or breaking rules.

I don't see anywhere mentioned that engine was not stock or exactly what work was done to it. The P06 will still have to be converted to VTEC so if it needs to be tuned you might as well socket and chip the P28 that you already have instead of dropping more money on another ECU.

I already have 2 P06 chips that are just laying around so i wouldnt be dropping any extra money there, and the engine isnt stock, it has forged pistons, spooned head, eagle rods, stage 2 clutch, stage 1 flywheel and im sure theres other stuff im forgetting just cant think of it off the top of my head

Don't know how anyone would have known this little detail since it wasn't mentioned.
If the P06s are chipped and the P28 is not then use one of them. If the P28 is chipped then it makes no difference.

OP said, "i've put quite a bit of work into" and OK, we know and OP already have not 1 but 2 chipped P06's. Again, P28's, P30's and OBD1 P72's is very rare. Hmm. I think it's a good investment. Collecting and selling these valuable items.
