Default D16y8 heat shield removal

I usually refer to a PDF copy of the service manual I found online but it isn't working and I just wanted to know if the heat shield comes off with just the two top bolts or is there more?

and you have to either take out the o2 sensor or unclip it from underneath the distributor. other than that its cake.

Thanks much, I just wanted a quick reference for it as I'm going to be doing it in the dark tonight.

THANKS!

The front is the big focus right now...I'm going to be replacing the header here shortly but I suspect a crack and I was going to pull the front to see if there's a crack and that would kinda speed up my purchase of the new header.

Did you put an aftermarket in today?

Sorta i had taking the front heat shield off because it was ugly and the back half is bolted to the back of the headers allways bugged me. i dropped my motor today because i spun a bearing so i pulled the motor and figured all sorts of stuff out today haha.

Ahh...sorry to hear that. Best of luck with the rebuild on that. You gonna get some other new internals while you've already got the engine pulled and broken down?

i'm still weighing my options thought they are clear. but i'm thinking just doing an ls swap. because the price of doing a proper rebuild and cleaning would be very close and i really want some more torque and i'm saving up to go FI . i've always wanted to do ls-t.

I'd go for the LS...I keep tossing the idea of a b20 around but I always change my mind.

BTW...took off the shield this morning...it was three bolts...top two and then one at the base I had to get...nothing crazy just hard fit with the ratchet...no back piece or anything crazy.

yeah i looked at em but i'ver heard too many accounts of cracking cylinder walls. so i'm getting a b18a and i think i have the back piece because i have the ZC i thought the manifolds would be the same

Oh yeah...the y8 header...in all honesty looks really good to be OEM compared to alot of the other d headers...the collector is a little thin compared to aftermarket but it's not that bad.

I hear mixed things about the cylinder walls.

Mine is a daily...so it would have i/h/e and chipped ecu...and I doubt that would have any neg effects on cylinder walls since I wouldn't be romping on it.
