Is this D16Y8 Exhaust manifold and downpipe or D16Y7?
Woah im really confused. i just bought a 97 Coupe EX shell. The guy told me its D16Y8. According to WIKI, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine, 97 CIVIC EX could be both d16y7 and d16y8. Anyone has a clue?

The stock Civic EX had a D16Y8 engine. The exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe A in your pic look like a Y8 exhaust not a Y7 exhaust.

On that wiki page, it says d16y7 are equipped in 96-98 Honda Civic EX.
and this guy on hondatech claims this is d16y8 exhaust manifold. Look at the pipe a. its 2 to 1 pipe.

Also on hondapartscheap.com
when i choose 97 civic coupe ex 2dr, it shows #9 for downpipe. but when i choose 97 coupe dx 2dr, it shows #8 for downpipe. but the shell i bought is 97 civic coupe ex 2dr and exhaust manifold and downpipe were in its trunk....

I don't believe any US or Canada EX models had a D16Y7 engine.

I now see what you are saying here, but the exhaust manifold is definitely not from a D16Y7 engine. On the other hand, it and exhaust pipe A in post #2 are also not from a D16Y8 engine, because as you say the Y8 should have the 2-to-1 configuration.

I now see what you are saying here, but the exhaust manifold is definitely not from a D16Y7 engine. On the other hand, it and exhaust pipe A in post #2 are also not from a D16Y8 engine, because as you say the Y8 should have the 2-to-1 configuration.
