I have a 95 civic ex. I have oem cruise control but the system is removed. I want to wire up interior footwell lights to this switch so as to keep a clean look. How do i remove the switch and how would I go about wiring this up? The switch light still works so I know theres power to the switch.

If the switch is no longer powered, what colored wire do i run the hot from the battery to, and what colored wire do i connect from the switch to the "hot" on the light strip? Also, should I tie in the illumination wire to the wire going to the light strip so that when the strip is powered the button lights up? Or is the illumination built in?
