Cooling Problems
First off, I know there are hundreds of posts about the fan not working. I did the search and found some info on that. I just wanted some specific info for my case.
My car is overheating since I have come back from college. Maybe something happened while it was sitting?
I flushed the coolant and put new in but for some reason the coolant in the radiator backs up into the reservoir tank. This means that there is less coolant in the engine and I think that is why I have overheating problems. I was wondering why this is happening. Isn't the reservoir tank for coolant to go into the radiator?
I do not think the fan has worked since I have owned the car. I turned the ac on and the condenser fan comes on but not the cooling fan. Should I replace the relay?
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Cooling Problems (MLogan)
I had the same problem with my reservoir tank boiling over. It turns out I had a blown head gasket. But you can check to see if your fan works by hooking it up to a battery.

Re: Cooling Problems (Scilacci4)
I was wondering about the head gasket for some reason. My car seems to be running like crap, thought maybe needed tune up or something. It has about 123k miles on it and I really dont want to put any money in for head gasket. Ne other ways to check about head gastket?

I think a Compression check should tell if you have blown the gasket. Also is your car smoking at all? If it has white smoke coming out I would say that it is a head gasket.
