Default Coolant question

im changing fluids in my car and i know about oil and the automatic (I know...) tranny fluid being dexron 2 or 3 equivilant but what about refilling my resevoir tank for the coolant? My helms manual said only use Honda antifreeze/coolant. why cant i use something from autozone or pepboys? im sure honda will charge a grip for it.

You can Use any ethylene glycol-based antifreeze, at least your car use the ORANGE COOLANT but if not you can use any ethylene glycol-based antifreeze like PEAK

Stay away from the orange coolant in time it will block the fins in the radiator. If you cant run honda coolant you can use preston or any coolant from your local parts store.

Just make sure to use distilled water and NOT tap or hose water.

The honda stuff is premixed, so you dont have to add water.

There are also a lot of off the shelf stuff that is premixed as well.

I hope everyone knows that "orange" and "green" and "red" and "purple" coolants are all the same before they're dyed. just putting that out there...
