Default Compression test results help!

ok ive rented the oem brand compression tester from vatozone yesterday and conducted a compression test on my 00 gsr motor.

I removed all spark plugs, disabled fuel injectors, held the throttle wide open, and cranked until the needle stopped climbing. all cylinder were tested 2 times before i recorded the final number of psi. i put a cap full of oil into cylinder # 3 and the psi jumped up to 300 (that's the max my gauge will let it go). Also this was done on a cold engine. here are the results

cylinder 1. 221 psi
cylinder 2. 243 psi
cylinder 3. 215 psi
cylinder 4. 243 psi

what does this mean for cylinder #3? my rings are bad? my valves or valve seals, or ???

i searched up that if psi jumps by adding oil to a cylinder it means the cylinder rings are at fault. True?

Yes that is true...

But thats a "probably"...i would go for definate. You can add oil to the other cylinders and cause the psi to jump up as well.

When you initially removed the plug from cylinder 3, did it looked fouled at all? Was there oil on it?

1, 2 and 3 had oil on the plugs. 3 having the most on it. did not look foul as i just changed all plugs a month ago without putting a single mile on it.

i will look into buying a leak down test kit soon. thanks

Yes, leakdown kits are expensive, because they require an air compressor.
