it depends cause some are 2 piece intakes, so if it rains you can always take the bottom section off. There is always a "bypass filter" which goes in between the 2 pieces. but keep in mind that it only works when the filter is submerged in water. And water is something that you DO NOT want to suck up.

Does it rain a lot in USA, someplace in CA?
Do you have rainy seasons? Or is it on and off whenever? I would buy a 2 piece and use it as a SRI in the dry season.

when theres rain at your location, you do need to worry about watersuck some water in through your intake and you will have a hole the size of a baseball on your block. water is not compressible there for leading your block to blow, and also water doesnt mix to well with oil in your engine, it will destroy your internals.just my $0.02 anyone, feel free to correct me if im wrong.

AS long as you aren't puddle jumping, have splash guards, aren't doing cold air, and have a filter on the end you should be fine.

Are you foolish enough to drive thru something like this?
If not then you have zero worries, road spalsh and road spray isn't going to jack!
Your comprehensive insurance coverage has your back if you did hydrolock your engine.

Dude you didnt post what engine you have. If you have a d16 it is TOTALLY not worth it.
Even with other engines theres pros and cons to cai and sri. Sri = quicker throttle response and low end power as opposed to high end power of the cai.
So is it really worth the risk?
