Code 14 IAC. Cold start idle issues. hondatas300 Gurus.?
Okay I have idle issues, that i had a long mission of trying to find out but still haven't.
Longg story short. I have a 1997 EK with a 1997 jdm b18B turbo 440cc injectors with a OBD1 p75 ECU with Hondata s300. I have a obd2a to obd1 jumper.
On cold starts I have to manually gas the motor for about 20 seconds so the car doesn't stall out. It idles very low around 100-200 on cold starts and kind of flucuate and hunt around there until few minutes later. Its also throwing code 14 IACV.
When the engine is warm and normal operating temp. The idle is fine, it sits around 900 rpm and doesn't really mess up.
Things I Did...
I cleaned the IACV, and adjusted the idle screw, I also tested if there was voltage coming from the 2P connector of the Iacv, there was.
When I plugged in the Smanager to my ecu, the disable iacv error box was checked, and when I unchecked it the Check engine light came one, and the error code 14 IACV light came on.
Things I noticed, When I unplug the IACV 2p connector it doesn't really change anything.
leading me to think that somethings wrong with the iacv.
the only thing I can come with is ..
I read somewhere that you need to use a obd1 IACV on a obd1 ECU. my question is how can you tell if the iacv is a obd1 or obd2?
I'm not certain but I think my motor is a obd2. its a 1997 jdm b18b.

Another test I heard about but don't know exactly how to do is jumping the plug of the the ecu somewhere? and connecting it to some ground? to see if the IACV clicks.?
Does anyone know exactly how to do this and how it works??
thankss.
