Clutch problem in 95 DX with B18C
My friend has a 95 DX coupe with a 96 JDM B18C swap. We finished the swap about 2 weeks ago and the car was running perfect. Yesterday it started getting difficult to get it in gear. Now the car won't go into gear at all
We tried bleeding the clutch again to make sure there was no air trapped in the lines. After getting the pedal back to normal, it's still doing the same thing. He has a new Fidanza flywheel and a Clutchmaster stage I clutch and pressure plate. With the car off, you can shift through the gears but if you start it up it won't go into gear at all. If you put it into first then start the car with the pedal pressed down it starts to grab and jerk the car forward, so I'm guessing that the clutch is engaged. Anyone ever experience this type of thing? I'm hoping it's something that could possibly be fixed without pulling the tranny off.

We didn't change the throw out bearing. The swap was in his other car, a 99 EX for about a week and then we put it in his 95 DX. The flywheel was brand new and the clutch was new, only used for about a week when the motor/tranny was in the EX. I'm thinking it's a problem in the hyraulic system, maybe the slave cylinder. If it is bad, will the slave cylinder from the 95 DX tranny work on the B18C tranny?

Well we replaced the slave cylinder today with the one from the DX tranny and bled the clutch again. The clutch pressure is fine now, but it will only go into gear with the car off. When you start it in neutral, it will not go into any gear and it just feels like something is blocking it when you try. Then if you shut if off you can shift it through all the gears again. So we tried putting it in first and starting it, but it grabs and makes the car jump forward so the clutch is engaged for sure.
There were no leaks at any of the screw in joinings from the clutch master to the slave, so I'm guessing the disc is out of line and locked up somehow or the throw out bearing is stuck. Is there any ways to check anything like this before we pull the tranny off?

Did you lube up the shaft that the throwout bearing glides on??? If you don't lube that bad boy with high temp grease it can seize and the bearing will not release the clutch.

one of the clutch springs in the clutch disc may be really fucked and broken.....seen it before with same thing you are experiencing.

Clutch pressure is fine, the clutch master cylinder is clean. After bleeding it, there was minimal dirt/air but the brake fluid in it now is clean. I filled the tranny up and checked the level so I know it was good. I don't see how the tranny level would've went down, but I'll check that.
