Icon3 D16Y8: Post mount threads stripped. What now???

Sup all
1999 Civic Dx
1998 Y8 block
2000 Y7 head

My motor has been feeling really sloppy as if the motor is all over the place. I drove with no hood to a meet and I could see my motor lifting and dropping about an inch and a half.

I start taking off my driver side mount and I see the 14mm bolt is sticking out about an inch. I remove the mount and the bolt pretty much slides out. The bracket is still loose but I think the second bolt is also loose because it was wobbling around when I remove the top bolt. When I removed the top bolt it was covered in threads and some slimy chemical that was dark gray. Not exactly oil though.

So what do I do now?? I have no idea how it came lose, as it hasnt been removed since the swap was done back in 2008. Will I need a new block? I wouldnt be surprised if the second bolt is stripped too.

Well you can remove the remaining bolt and chase the threads. At that point you'll be able to see what's left and decide if you need to do an actual repair. If repair is needed you can get a helicoil kit and rethread it as needed or you can get a metric or standard sized tap that is just slightly bigger than what is already in there to tap out new threads and use a new appropriately sized bolt to fit (this method will eliminate having to insert threads but may require you to open up the holes on the bracket a little bit).

same thing happened to me. I ran it with 2 BOLTS. Not a good idea. Got on the gas and at about 8000RPM, the bolts snapped/came loose and my motor fell out breaking my axle too. bump for you, good luck.
