Default Need help with tranny noise?

95 del sol with 170k, I dont know what has/hasn't been replaced on it.

Whenever im in low gears the car will make like a grinding noise (like marbles rubbing into each other really fast) when giving the car gas, if i press the clutch in it goes away once fully in, once i re-engage it starts making it again when i accelerate or let the gas off but if i hold the rpm/speed at a constant speed it doesn't do it. if i let go of the gas while in gear it sounds 10x worse.

Long story short, Noise only happens when clutch is engaging/disengaging or when in 1st/2nd and accelerating AND when i take my foot off the gas while in gear itll sound 10x worse.

Im leaning towards the input shaft bearing, but I dont have the cash to fix it anytime soon. What I wanted to know was is there some additive like lucas or syncromesh or something that could ease the stress on the bearing till I can get it fixed? Any help would be appreciated greatly this is my DD and the last thing i need is for it to break.

It sound like an ISB. You really need to pull the transmission and check further. There's no fix in a can for this sort of thing. The Honda manual transmissions are not difficult to disassemble and fix. You'd be suprised. If you can do a clutch job, you can probably do the ISB replacement.

Sounds like the ISB. There's nothing you can do with it besides replace it, the bearing cage breaks, eventually the cage completely flys apart and the ***** hammer between the inner and outer bearing races. Usually they'll go a long time like that though, just sounds bad. I have seen one that ruined the input/mainshaft though, deep groove got cut into the mainshaft.
