Check Engine Light Blinking
I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX ... I was driving to work this morning and suddenly the check engine light started blinking.
Then when i stopped in the parking lot, the car started vibrating and lot and seemed like it was going to die on me. I switched it off. Now i tried starting it and it started just fine, but it is still vibrating.
Could someone help me. It is safe to drive the car. Any ideas.
In advance, your help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Check Engine Light Blinking (zicosonic)
You need to search the forum and find out how to check the codes on the ECU and then post the code. It sounds like it has a miss but need a code to make sure.

Blinking indicates a misfire, (dead sparkplug) .
No, its not a good thing. Its not good to run a motor without all 4 cylindars running correctly.

Thanks for the info.
I guess i will take it to Auto Zone and see if they can hook up the ECU and find the code out or else i will try to read the forum and find out how the read the code.

It's not necessarily a spark plug that is the cause. I had it happen to me once and it was actually the injector wire that had sheared off.
All you need to read the code is a paper clip. There are several how-to's with pictures.
