Default cheap quiet exhaust.

just as the title says i keep getting pulled over for my exhaust so i want a cheap and quiet muffler. magnaflow is out of the question a have one on my car now and its way to loud. the apexi ws2 looks nice buts its pretty expensive. what are borla mufflers like? flowmaster? vibrant? i want the muffler to be pretty quiet since i drive a lot of highway and its painful as hell with the current muffler. i know its not guna be as quiet as stock with 2.5" piping and no cat but i'm looking for quieter. thanks

Ya get what ya pay for. Apex-i + quiet and quality. I was in the same boat - 8 years ago. No regrets.

An ITR or older SiR exhaust would fit your needs perfectly.

Hahaha there goes your problem right there. maganflow exhausts are not loud at all in fact they are some of the deepest and quietest exhausts you'll find, but any exhaust will sound obnoxious without a cat and a resonator. Try getting a shop to weld in a resonator if you dont have one and that should help a lot or weld a bigger one in if you have one

i got same question.. i have an ej1 with a gsr swap. it has no cat or resonator and a cheapo muffler. it is so freakin loud and raspy i hate it. i know i need a new muffler and have questions on which one to get and also have a question if i should put a resonator on.. will the resonator restrict me of power and just be defeating the purpose of the exhaust

Cherry Bomb Turbo, Period.

I have a Cherry Bomb Turbo on my B18B1 swapped 92 hatch with 2.25 exhaust and its quite mellow and deep below about 3.5K RPM, and is only $15-20.

*I painted mine flat black*

Lmao are you serious? I remember needing a new temporary muffler on my ride before i installed my catback and i saw that Cherry bomb stuff in autozone and meijers. I never would've thought it could hold up as good as you described.

its a bit on the raspy side, but for $15-20 its definatly not bad, not tinny at all.

id say just dislodge the muffler, youll save money, have the stock look, and sounds better than most exhausts. just disconnect the stock axleback from the piping, should be two bolts and put the spring in between the piping to keep it disconnected. basically, your riding exhaust-less but it looks stock

2.5 inch piping with a B18 with no muffler is loud as all holy hell, I drove like that for 30 min ON MY WAY to get my muffler welded on and had a massive headache afterwards.

With STOCK like 1.6 inch piping the muffler doesn't make a difference on a STOCK motor, but with a B18, and with 2.5, its very VERY loud.

Cheap,quiet?...stock. Apexi WS2, Greddy SP2. I've had both and both are fairly quiet when ran with 2 1/4" piping. ES Oval isn't too bad either...but if it's a big problem, I've seen where people use stock mufflers hollowed out with an aftermarket inside for a sleeper/stock look.
