Default Calling all F7 Subframe Brace Owners

Ok, I had a question about my brace.

I just recent got one and put it on my EG Hatch.

Fitment was pretty tight. Upon removal of the original lca bolts at the stock subframe, one of the backings with the nut welded to it fell off.

So I just put a washer/nut on the back of that Subframe LCA Bolt.

Now my question, I was looking through the wheel well the other day and my brace looks bowed out?

If you look at it from the back, it looks fine, but removing a wheel and looking at it from the side, you can clearly tell its bowed.

I didnt think it should be bowed, hence this thread.

If anyone needs pics, LMK.

Any insight? I have searched but apparently I am the only one or I suck at choosing keywords..

Thanks.

I've never heard of anyone that had an issue like yours. Maybe it was never noticed?

For that High dollar sub-brace art, I'd definitely give them a call with follow-up email photos. Just from the hip though, their products are supposed to be made of 7075T-6 which, unlike 6061T-6, is very ridged and not prone at all to warping or load distorting - being more brittle than ductile, it would probably break first. Did you get it from them or one of their authorized retailers?

F7 customer service is excellent. you can also PM them on here. It may take a bit to hear back because of the holidays, but who knows.

Can you post pictures of what you are seeing?

Did you get any resolve of the distortion issue? I remember back in the day, when I was researching LCA's for purchase on my EG and EJ projects, I liked theirs as being hands-down the coolest looking, but I concluded I would be more inclined to use them on a 1/4 mile racer application as-opposed-to a street racer. I ended-up buying the only LCA's that were made of 2024T-3 at the time.

At any rate, I hope that you got it resolved.
