Default Changed the cap, rotor, plugs, and spark plug wires, BUT STILL NO SPARK?

so lets start with what exactly happened.

So my mom was driving her 2000 honda civic and all of a sudden based on her account "i was just driving normally. then the engine just got cut off and when i tried turning it on it just cranks and cranks but never turns on."

So I went to the car, and i turned the key, and all I hear is the cranking noise like its trying to start, but it never does.

I did a timing test and its showing that I have no sparks at all in all of the 4 wires.

I changed the cap, rotor, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. Kragen is closed so i will change the distributor tomorrow. hopefully that will work.

my question is, if its not the distributor, then what could it be? any ideas? thanks let me know.

coil? probably a bad coil if you have no spark on all four cylinders. id check the coil first. dizzy are kinda expensive.

I had the same problem with my 95 honda civic and I ended up replacing the whole dizzy. The problem was the coil for me. I believe coil is almost the same price as a re-man dizzy. That is when you return the broken one with it. Please correct me if i'm wrong!

its prob the ignition coil. thats what happen with my accord when i shorted the sytem when installed remote start. the coil is about 75 from the dealer but should be cheaper with schucks or someone like them. its located inside the distributor cap.

+1 on the coil, its almost never necessary to pay to replace the entire dizzy.
