well when the CEL comes on sometimes it will cause the rpms to stick at about 1600, and the car kind of jumps when i change gears, once past 1600 rpms its fine though. and if i reset the light my idle will still be bad but it might stay off for a couple days then kick back. but the idle also changes sometimes if theres a load put on like if i step on the brakes, or if i put the high beams on.

its weird because sometimes it will idle fine, then other times it will stay at like 1400 maybe when im out of gear, then drop down if im at a steady stop.

Ok, basically you start with the car idling...
If it's 550 RPM or less, then you check the IACV. Disconnect it while it's idling, and if the engine speed doesn't stall or die altogethor, the IACV is probably bad.
If the engine speed increases, then adjust your base idle. Check the throttle body for signs of carbon build-up around the butterfly and ports. If you see alot of carbon, take it off and clean it thoroughly.
If with the car idling, the RPM is NOT 550 or less, then check for vaccuum leaks.. Remove the intake from the TB, and with the car running, cover the lower port in the TB. If the engine speed doesn't drop, you've got a vaccuum leak more than likely somewhere.
If the engine speed does drop, go ahead and adjust your base idle and see how it runs from there.

Havin the same problem man, only mines idling anywhere from 1K to 1400...doesnt throw a code till the car warms up... when then CEL cuts on the idle increases to approximately 1500 and if i barely give it gas it bounces like a rev limiter around 1800. its great...yours doing any of this? oh and going through gears if i let off throttle in gear it jerks pretty bad. lets try to get these damn things fixed!

that is exactly what happens to mine, cept mine throws the code from when i start the car. and if im driving for a while the idle shoots to 1600 and stays there even when i hit the gas it drops straight back to there. and it im changing gears it jerks if the rpms are under or near 1600. lets fix this!
