need a lot of help with a 93 Delsol S
I am about to graduate with a degree in automotive technology. YAY. I have worked on Honda's for a bit now. I've done a few D to D transplants but nothing too huge by myself. I have decided I am going step up my game. I just traded my ej8 for a 93 Delsol S, as for right now I want to do a stock b16a2 (that should be an oxymoron ha)
should I start with the HMO "complete change over" or start with the engine ecu and trans and buy the motor mounts, axles and shift linkage else were?
I also plan on scrapping the delsol front clip I think they are ugly but I love the rest of the car. my brother suggested swapping my delsol clip with his ek clip that'd be funny
Is there anything I'll need that the average bear may lookover?

ok so that was helpful...
is there any difference between the 92-95 b16a and the 96-00 b16a?
are they both plug and play in a del sol s or does the 96-00 require wiring mods

use b16a2, its obd1 make sure you get the right wiring harness, Ecu, trans. then i'd get hasport mounts oem axles and oem shift linkage, Try and get the Engine, harness, ecu and trans in a "bundle" if you can that'd be the best bet. then go to honda or buy used axles and linkage
Only difference between 92-95 and 96up is OBD which is diff ecu, harness etc. you can run obd2 its just a little harder wiring up.
your going to need tools, time, and money. Time being the main thing. Im hoping this isn't your DD, because the car will be down for prob at least a week. if not more.
and finally, don't swap front clips.

For the easiest instal I would try finding a b16a3, which came out of the del sol vtec. You can use the obd2 motor you'll just have to use a obd1 vtec harnes. However, b series dl sol's have there own shift linkage. You'll have to find original del sol vtec linkage or cut out like 3" of your d series one. The swap is pretty straight foreward if your car is already a 5sp.

Just curious why you want to swap in a B16A, they really aren't all that great, why not go with the larger engine, they are so fun to drive and make a lot more tq. The B20 swap is a wonderful thing. It's your choice of coarse, but i am mentioning this to keep you thinking about your options. Don't worry yourself about the weight of a B series, that is not an issue between models

...whoever said a swap will take a couple weeks is high as a kite. it can easily be pulled unwired and install and rewired in 6-7 hours. less time with a friend.
he probably didn't think it was rice. like all the jdm in the world doesn't make your car cooler. just more rice to me.
i'd personally go with a bigger then b16. its ok to drive around in but i feel if i had gone b18 id enjoy it alot more.

Go to inlinefour.com for delsol vtec shift linkage. Im swapping a b18c1 into my 93 delsol. You will also need to run vtec wires ill be back to post the links for wiring and other places to get parts. Plus with the b series swap. u will need the b series rear t bracket mount. Rest of the mounts are ok.

Rywire.com sells a nice kit to wire up vtec and all the sensors needed. If you don't buy a full swap I learned you can't uses a d series alternator on a b series. You can keep d series a/c if you get a delsol vtec a/c bracket. If u do keep a/c use a b series belt for it.
