Car wont start... alarm?
I dont know what is wrong with my car, but its not starting. It has an aftermarket alarm, which was installed by the previous owner. I dont know the specifics of it but let me tell you how my car is acting.
When I try to start the car the warning lights go on but they are very dim, and thats all. I dont hear the spark plugs firing, I dont hear anything from the engine. When I take the key out, let go of the brakes, etc the alarm goes. But the alarm doesnt sound like it normally does - and my car makes different noises now when I hit the lock / unlock button. I dont think it is my battery because I just put in a new one less than a month ago, and when I put on my high beams they are pretty bright.
Is this my alarm or something else? Its a 94 civic ex
-- also, this is a repost. I posted this in the audio/security forum but because I also wanted to post it here because I am hoping someone else had this same problem... btw the alarm is from prestige (thats all i know about it). I also need help fast...

Umm..sounds like a battery to me. Try using another one. If you can get it to autozone they'll test your whole electrical system and tell you what you need.

most likely your battery cables aren't getting any power. Jsut play with them and tighten them down. IF not go under were your petals are and replace all the fuses. IF that doesn't work see if the alarm has a short somewhere. OR maybe the ground on the alarm is installed in the wrong place.
