Car Died while running and won't start

Car Died while running and won't start
I was driving, i shifted to second, then shifted to third. When i hit third my car died and now it won't start. It will try to crank over, but it won't start. replaced the alternator not too long ago and the battery should be fine, any ideas?

Quick hint, listen for the fuel pump when you turn the key on. It should spin up for about 10 seconds and you can usually hear it. That is usually the first thing I check.
