Default a/c experts please!!

i have a 95 honda ex manual. im having problem with my a/c. i got this car about 6 months. the a/c didnt work. i brought it to the shop and they did a leakage test. it pass so they recharge it. it works but its not cold. they measure the temperture and it was 60 degree. i dont know if thats the average for civcs but it sure aint cold enough. you can drive the car for a while and itll get a little colder but not cold. i dont expect it to be cold like new cars but it should feel cool in the car about 5 minutes. i dont know if something is wrong with it. i think its the compressor. or am i wrong? let me know please!! need help!!

well something isnt right if the outlet temp is 60 degrees. should be closer to 40 degrees regardless if it is a new car or not. (of course at optimal conditions, like low humidity and not excessively hot outside temps) then again, it wont read correctly at idle, needs to be at a constant 2,000 RPMs for 10min to get an accurate temp outlet reading.

i could tell you more, but cant think, should get some sleep. will check back tomorrow once i am awake.

yeah. if i leave it for a while about ten to 15 minutes while im driving than its cold but not sure how cold. cold enough though i guess. but if i leave it for 5-10 minutes not driving it then it will never be cold. its like i have to drive for the a/c to work or get cold. i dont know whats wrong with it.

whats a dryer? i dont know much about a/c?
thanks

Please read this thread:

Then you'll understand... at least a bit more than now. There's a few factors. Bad lube, didn't create a vacuum when they filled, filled with contaminated r134a...or some cheap substitue, receiver/filter was bad (exposed to open air). The last is most likely it, its a ~$49 from honda. Its the cylindrical canister thing with a lens on the top (ot at least, thats it in my EF).

If you step into a 60 deg building from 90 deg outside, it will seem cool. Meaning... the a/c isn't getting better after a while, its just finally made the cabin cool enough. It should be an icebox after 15 mins of running a recharged system.

how much coolant did it take? I know the VW's take around 1.6/1.7lbs, honda's probably less, but if it didn't take enough coolant it won't trip ur low pressure switch therefore ur compressor won't kick on, find out how much they put in there...

and that temperature is too high...
