Default both my CV boots are ripped and my car makes a clicking noise when i accellerate. did i do some dama

when i accellerate my car makes a noticable clicking noise .. i think its cause both the outer CV boots are ripped and the grease is drying up .. if i put new CV boots and grease will this stop or has the damage already been done and do i need to fix something else too?? its a 93 hatch..

just replace your axles asap and you should be ok.

If you got the clicking, the damage is done. Do yourself a favor and get some rebuilt axles (or new if you're rolling in dough).

The joints. If you have clicking, these joints are either slipping or binding due to no grease or dirt or both. The damage has occured when these noises are happening.

The next noise will be when the engine RPM's go up because the axle has broken completely, and the noise after that will be you cussing when you realize you aren't going anywhere without a towtruck.
