Im guessin it was a mishift or somethin. It was wet outside, so over reving was probobly a factor. I'd say he dropped some valves.

That's what I am saying, I am lucky I have friends who have money to pay for things when they break them, I have taught 2 people how to drive stick on my car, no one has over revved yet, they are to afraid to rev it above like 5000 RPM. Although one of them took it all the way to the redline once through first second and third and they were like holy crap.[

Yea, he went ahead and bought me a GSR shortblock, but now i took apart the old motor he has to buy me a new head. So he's about to get me that. But i thought it would be stupid to have a motor apart and not UPGRADE! Plus i dont have a licence for about another year, so im in no rush.

That block looks very salvagable. I'd say get some GE sleeves in that thing and go to town.

Your're right about the head though, it looks pretty toasted.

that head is not repairable? I got a B17 for free and the head damage looks exactly like that.
