Bad Wheel Bearing?!?
Wussup everyone. I drive a 98 hatch and recently started hearing noise from, what sounds like, the front driver side tire. The noise is like a high pitched squeak that turns into a "metal rubbing" sound. This noise gets louder when i turn the wheel to the left, but only when the car is moving. When that car is at a stand still there is no noise whether or not i turn the wheel. I have not noticed any unusual shaking of the wheel. What do you guys think this might be?!

Re: Bad Wheel Bearing?!?
First jack up the front wheels... Check the axles first... see if anything is wrong with it. Then grab the wheels with both hands and try to wiggle it from side to side and see if theres play. There should be no play and it should be stiff as a board. If theres play and your axles are fine, then it could be the wheel bearing
Also try spinning the wheel with your hands and listening to any weird noise
