I recently had my car drop in a y8 motor and tranny, motor is fine but the tranny is making a grinding noise in lower gear with clutch engage, but it goes away when you press in the clutch pedal. Everyone is saying the shaft bearing is bad

My question is how long will the tranny last with a neglected bad input shaft bearing? Would the grinding get worse or damage the tranny itself if I decide to do nothing?
Not replacing the ISB, would it cause any other damages to the tranny?

When you do get a new tranny I'll buy that one off you for $25.

Are you driving or parked when the noise happens.Parked ,no pedals pushed noise?Push clutch noise goes away?Bad throw out bearing????Trannys can whine for years if thats your Q.Grinding is always bad really BAD.

when i'm driving in a gear 1st-3rd....but 4th and 5th, the sound is gone. when i push in the clutch or in neutral, no grinding noise.

The syncros are probably shot.If the gear grinds with the clutch depressed,it will be syncros.Trannyrebuild like $400.
