Icon2 b20b sluggish and overheat prob!!

alright i had swapped in a b20b in my eg si drove fine when i test drove after i swapped it and it runs fine till it gets to operating temp starts to run hella sluggish and starts to overheat i changed the thermo and put 91 octane so now im gonna change the water pump cause i think this is the most obvious of things to change out now only thing is i didnt know if this would change the sluggish performance cause i filled up the water when it overheated and operating temp is within normal range but still drives sluggish i was just planning on sellin and goin lsv but wasnt sure if it could be the ecu as well since it was an auto pr4 i chipped to a 5spd and didnt know if it could just be a shitty chip i got jerked around on but like i said it acts very erratic when its on operating temp i mean it will bog out with rpms and sometime just turn off on idle wasnt sure if anyone had this problem and can offer some help or someone had some good insight im pretty sure its just the water pump but i didnt want to drop it down swap out pumps and throw it back in just for the same problem as well as far as the gas goes i had it sitting for awhile and i let it idle when i first installed just to clear out tank than filled it with 91 but it still ran rough when it was off so ht seniors let me know anxious to finish up and throw in the turbo i have ready for it

Check your compression as well, could be a blown head gasket.
