Default b18c into a 99-00 ek civic

I want to put an Obd2a/b b18c gsr engine in my 2000 civic w/c still uses an OBD-1 ecu and has a non-vtec 1.5 liter 5 SPD M/T.

1.) If i happen to get an Obd-2a or Obd-2b B18c, what ecu adapter( Or Wire harness converter kit) from Hasport should i pick? is it ff:

A.) Obd2a/2b to Obd1
B.) Obd1 to Obd2a/2b

2.) If you order this wire conversion kits do you have to send both the B18c's wires and my 2000 civic wires as well to Hasport?

3.) I know that B & D series M/T vtec engines use 2-wire i.a.c.v. plugs and mine is a 3-wire plug. Do i need to buy a 2-wire plug or just use the one in the B18c ??

4.) Can i get a rear-engine bracket of the used B16A? How much?

you'll want obd2b to obd1 harness. i bought mine off a local guy and it was just a plug n play harness. i don't think there's really a difference between my 96 and ur 00 other than mine was obd2a cuz it's older.

more than one way to skin a cat but I would use a 99-00 civic harness(this part is mandatory), preferably the si version or at least the ex, stay away from the dx or any auto harness due to the 3 wire iacv.(you can use a dx harness and rewire for the iacv if you choose to do so) Then if you wanna use an obd1 ecu get an obd2b to obd1 ecu adapter harness. If the motor will be all stock with the gsr manifold you can use an obd1 stock p72 gsr ecu, if not use a chipped p28 with the proper maps for your setup. No matter what harness you use you will need to add the wire for the IAB on the gsr intake manifold if you plan to use it. As far as the rear t bracket is concerned that will need to be from a 99-00 civic si. You will also need the timing belt post mount off a 99-00 civic si.

This obd2b to obd1 harness you mention means i can still use my obd1 under dash harness plus the harness converter then plug it to the obd2 ecu am i right?

Its an important difference though as the ecu plugs between obd2a and
obd2b are different, you need to keep the engine harness the same as the chassis harness. cant mix a 98 civic engine harness with a 99-00 civic body. Unlike the integras which kept with the 2 piece harnesses all the way to 2001 the civics went to a one piece design in 1996.

What if the b18c already has its own wire harnesses plus ecu, can i still use my obd1 under dash harness? And do i still need to make my own 2-wire plug?

you can not use an integra harness in a 96-00 civic, the integra has a two piece harness and the civic is one piece. No matter what you need a 99-00 civic harness.

That means i have to get a 99-2000 civic Si harness from its b16A engine?
How can i obtain a Si b16a harness?

What if i get an obd2 b18c engine and use its engine harness, can i still use my obd1 non-vtec manual chassis harness? And i still need to wire-up a 2-wire iacv?

you cant use an integra harness, it doesnt matter if its obd2 or not. Read the faq stickied at the top of the forum, also google ff squad and look over their site for all the step by steps. What you are trying to do has been done thousands of times, its all been figured out. All you need to do is take the time to do some research.

also you keep saying your obd1 chassis harness, your chassis harness is obd2b, all you have is a ecu jumper that allows an obd1 ecu to be plugged in, your car is still obd2b, engine and chassis.

That's what the mechanic said i had him looked at under the dash and he said my ecu is obd1 so i assumed my chassis is an obd1 too despite the car is a model 2000. I forgot to mention before i'm from the Philippines maybe theres a slight difference between there in the U.S.

Was the car modified when you bought it?? I dont know for sure what honda did with the electronics over there, I would think they are the same. If thats the case just get all the afforementioned parts of any b series 99-00 ek over there, should be alot easier to find. Didnt the b16s come in hatches and four doors over there, you dont even have the coupe do you??

Nope, its not modified when i got it, I'm the first and original owner.

The 1991-92 civic ESi (in U.S. i think its called civic-Del Sol?) was the only model with a 3-door hatch.

From 1994 to 2000 all of our civics are 4-doors. Mostly Manual 5-speeds.

The 2000 Si here is called SiR version but it's bhp is same as the Si in U.S.

Would the wiring problems go-away if i just get a B16A engine plus a b20b engine and swap heads?

Can i use the b16 tranny on the b20 block? And can you use the b16a rear bracket on the b20?
