Default b18b1 F/I vs. N/A

Ok, so this topic has been chewed on for a while, i already expect to get the answer F/I, etc. But there are a lot of newbies in here, including myself and this could very educational. i have a '92 DX HB with a b18b1 and i am not sure what i want to do, boost or go N/A.

I want to know, if boost makes your car a LOT faster than N/A plus it's cheaper than N/A why do people still go N/A? Am i missing something here, please explain...

Is it maybe because N/A is more reliable than boost? Also how safe is it to boost my stock LS motor w/6psi of boost. I am thinking of making a custom turbo (saab). How good are custom turbos if built right and how's the reliability?

As far as N/A, what cam shafts and cam gear should i use, what else is there to N/A?

And my final question, what times should i expect my dx to pull this month when i go to the track.

'92 dx

I'm also trying to decide the same thing on my 92 dx hatch w' a B18b swap. All motor or turbo? But I think I'll end up going N/A and getting a better tranny. Just b/c I like N/A better. And from what I've seen its more reliable than boost.

BTW my hatch w' LS swap, intake, cheap muffler, ran 14.8@93. You have a GSR tranny and some weight reduction so you should be faster.

My cousins' all motor B18A w/ ITR tranny, was in a 94 Civic DX coupe. Ate GSR's for lunch. And he still had a Drag 2 waiting to be put on.

I'm gonna put turbo on my B motor, only 6 psi, but thats cause I just love the sound of turbo.

If I was gonna go power wise, I'd build it before boosting it.

Just be prepared to spend a lot of money either way.

do you want to keep it non-vtec?? or swap a vtec head?? Turbos are a lot to keep up with, even if done right. You'll be happy for awhile, and then want more boost etc..But if I was you, I;d go turbo, thats what I want to do, and I've seen some good gains with the LS turbo setup, as compared to say a b16 turbo setup. I say **** on vtec, go turbo...Some people like all motor setups, probably because it's more fulfilling, and a lot harder to see the same gains as throwing on a turbo. I've done lots of head work and such to my stock D16Z6, and I'm keeping upwith my friend;'s Del Sol dohc v tec, and my friend with a b16 swap. I love it, because you;'re reaping the full potential with internals, which is harder to see then a big ol intercooler in your front grill..I don't know
