b16b swap into 00 ex - need help with OBD2b to OBD2a wiring conversion
Hey guys I'm new to the forum, and I really need some help. I bought a 98' b16b complete swap to put in my 2000 civic ex, and i'm nearly done but I ran into a little problem. The b16b, its new ecu, and its wiring harness are all obd2a and my car is set up for obd2b, which leaves a lone plug underneath my dash with nowhere to go. I believe this plug originally plugged into the A port of my old obd2b ecu. So I have a few questions. 1) Am i going to have to get an obd2a-obd2b adapter so that I can use the lone plug, and just use my old obd2b wiring? 2) will obd2b wiring work on an engine that came with obd2a originally? 3) is this plug even needed under the dash? i compared the pinouts between both plugs and ecus and they seem to be relatively similar, with everything set up a tad different on obd2a.
Regardless, am i going to have to make some changes? or can i leave the plug alone since its original functions are already integrated into the b16bs new wiring?
p.s. im sorry if i didn't search if this was already answered, im just really pressed on time and need the info ASAP
Any help or advice would be REALLY appreciated guys

You have to keep the EX harness and modify it, or get an Si harness. Otherwise you aren't going to have guages.

So basically get an Si harness, and the obd2a to obd2b connector and run it like that?
This is the plug in question btw
And also, what is the green plug under the dash for? I have it connected, but what does it do? Just wondering

there is no way i can make the b16b ecu, harness, and engine work without major modification? I dont necessarily have the money to go buy a new harness, im working on 2 project cars right now, so im basically spent. Any advice on what i can do with what i already have?
