B16A2 - Distributor - How to change rotor?
Hi freaks :-)
I did a tune up on my Del Sol on a lift - New plugs, wires, distributor cap, oil and filter, thermostat and coolant, yay :-)
Problem:
Once I got the distributor cap off I could not see a way to get to the rotor retaining screw. The Inner cover is blocking the angle from 9 o'clock to 7 o'clock and the rotor itself is not moving. I put the car in gear and tried manually turning a front wheel up in the air (still on the lift) - No luck. How do I turn the rotor so I can get the retaining screw between 7 and 9 o'clock - and not **** up the engine timing as well? The repair manual just says 'remove the rotor'...yeeeessss :S

Okay, sound simple enough - thanks RonJ - you ROCK! Can I do this and not need a timing gun afterwards? Thanks again :-)
