ASK : EK sedan hitch a trailer
Hello, i have ek 2000 sedan. I plan tow a trailer
Dimension of trailer 4m x 2m x 2m.
Inside in trailer like a kitchen (stove, refrigerator, trays, cups, plates, and other kitchen equipment)
My plan is make a little cafe like a taco truck, but i dont have lot of money to buy a truck, so i only made a trailer
Trailer custom made. Maybe overall weight less than 500kg
I said maybe because trailer still on progress
The problem is a tow or hitch for pull a trailer, i dont find who sold it in my country (southeast Asia) i plan to custom the hitch like i see in internet for civic ek sedan.
What should I look for more? Is my civic chassis secure hitch a trailer that weight like it? And what about the custom made hitch? (Maybe i custom hitch in offroad workshop)
Note :I did not pull the trailer every day, I was looking for a place to stay a trailer( place i opended my cafe). I will take to the roads only if there are i have events specific to migrate.
If I have to travel farthest to travel only as far as 30km. So if everything will be fine?
Spec my car :
engine stage 1 (I/H/E) D16Y8
Ported & polish head
Replacement air filter
Eibach spring (Maybe I will change to use of the standard if required)
The last, Maybe there are friends from all over the world want to help me? Hehe
Thank you!

Re: ASK : EK sedan hitch a trailer
I had a hitch on my '97 hatch, Draw Tite brand I think, and I pulled a little bit of everything--lawnmowers, motorcycles, hay, whatever. As long as you don't go over 800-900 lbs. or so, or 100 lbs. tongue weight (sorry, you'll have to do the lb./kg conversion), you should be fine.

2.2LBS/KG
500KG = 1100LB.
OP, that's quite a bit of weight. Make sure you get a nice hitch with very strong hardware. Don't hit too many bumps...and use common sense.
If the car has an automatic transmission....I would recommend not doing what you're doing. Or at least add a trans cooler and manually control the shifter.
