Anyone know about brake boosters and master cylinders?
Whats up fellas, I just converted my 97 LX stock braking system to one from an 01 GSR. I've been reading the other forums about boosters and MC's, and I am confused about one thing; since I'm running without ABS, does it matter if I get a MC and booster combo with or without ABS? Or will I have to find a combo that has no ABS at all? ANy help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

ok i have GSR brakes all around on my CX, im also non ABS, now to answer ur question YES, u must use a NON-ABS MC/BB (well the brake booster can be anyone u want, the MC is the one realted to ABS). i highly recomend u use an Integra RS MC/BB u can buy them together and they have braking power. I have also seen people use RS master cylinder with GSR brake booster, thats up to u. All u need to know is that u must use a NON-ABS Master Cylinder.
Good luck... and lemme know if u have more questions

But why is that? I'm pretty sure I have an ABS GS-R MC in my VX, and I've been using it since April. I'm pretty sure (not completely) that the MC/Booster is the same regardless, it's just how the ABS system modifies the pressure in the lines.
Don't forget the 4040 proportioning valve which is oh-so-fun to install w/ a DOHC in the car.

not too sure about which year, mine all came from a 99 GSR but i bought the RS MC/BB brand new 2001, im sure they are mostly the same.
the reason from what i know is that the MC has a tube connecting to the ABS, since we don't have ABS that tube doesn't go anywhere and thus not compatible.
