I have a K20a2. I just put my RBC manifold on and had to take the radiator out and back in afterwards. Well now I filled the rad. up w coolant and left the cap off and started the car and was toping it off but when it gets warmed up it starts boiling the water out but my gauge is not showing it overheating. Im assuming there is air in the system right? How to i get it all out? Ive heard about a bleeder valve but do k20's have them?

i always just took the cap off and cold started it and it worked leave the cap off till it starts to rise

squeeze your coolant hoses as well while the caps off..thats what i always do

Yea I just run my car with the coolent cap off, start cold, and run it through two fan cycles or when you don't see bubbles anymore.

just full it with what you can.put the cap on and take it for a fast ride.watch the temp.when you go home wait for it to cool off.then take the cap off and add as needed

The problem is that the thermostat is not opening because of the air in the system and the check engine light comes on when the water starts to boil but the gauge doesnt show it overheating. And i cant really squeeze the hoses bc they are the flexable universal ones and theyre pretty hard to squeeeze. I just really need the thermo to open lol.

idk much about K series motors, But most of the time theres a bleeder valve near the thermostat..

The other thing you can try is park the car on an incline - nose higher than the rear (or what I do is jack up the front of the car) since bubbles go up.

i had this issue with my k24 and it was a pain in the ***. theres a couple things you can try tho.
1. jack the front of the car up as high as you can then get one of the fillers thats basically a funnel that goes on the top of the rad and fill that up so it coolant is higher than the coolant in the motor and start it up and let it warm up. it should let the bubbles out.
2. get a vacuum coolant bleeder and it wil suck all the air out. (thats what i had to use and it worked)
3. if you still have your heater core in also make sure the have the heat on full blast while its warming up.

are you using a coolant hose adapter for the temp sensor and fan switch? if so what hose is it in? is it a stock therostat with the stock housing?
